State of the Art

‘State of the Art’ exhibition opened at the new neoartists gallery last week.
It includes one of my pieces ‘Flee’ which is a mixed media piece, and lit to create shadows on the wall, a bit of a departure for me. Here are some photographs of it, some taken using the hipstamatic app on my phone.

Two of my favourites are ‘Waste’ (goose feathers, fishing weights, invisible thread), by Lyn Bannister and ‘Population’ (paper installation), by Maggie Hargreaves. Having said that, the exhibition is one of the best yet, and there is lots of really wonderful work there.

‘Waste’, looking up, lying on the floor (as you do). If you stand underneath them your body heat makes them move.
How lovely.
